The Prizes

We believe in investing in the future of literature. This year, we are awarding a total of $100,000 in prize money:

  • Poetry Division Winner $20,000

  • Commercial Fiction Division Winner $20,000

  • Literary Fiction Division Winner $20,000

  • Best Overall Excellence Award $40,000

The Selection Process

Your work will be read and evaluated by an elite panel of distinguished professors and world-renowned authors who represent diverse genres and literary traditions from across the globe. This panel is responsible for selecting the finalized shortlist, and every writer who makes this list will have their work published in our New Writer Showcase. Following publication, the power shifts to the readers, as the final awards and prizes will be determined by a public web vote.

The goal of the New Writer Showcase is to find the voices that aren't just writing for today, but for the next century. By combining professional curation with a public vote, we ensure that the winners resonate with both the masters of the craft and the world at large.

Submission Guidelines

Please ensure your work meets the following criteria:

  • Eligibility: This competition is open to all writers who have not had a full-length book published by a traditional publishing house.

  • Format: We accept Short Stories and Poetry.

  • Word Count: Strictly 500 words or less per entry.

  • Originality: All work must be your own original, unpublished creation.
